Enjoy Puerto Vallarta like a Local 2

When you become a Villa Preferred Access member at Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta, you have dedicated your life to vacations in one of the most incredible vacation destinations in Mexico. There are so many wonderful activities to enjoy each year that you use your membership; you will never run out of amazing experiences.

Once you have exhausted the plethora of best known tourist attractions, such as Puerto Vallarta’s numerous beaches, lush jungle, canopy tours, pirate ship cruises and more, you might want to start experiencing activities that the locals like to do in Puerto Vallarta. Take a look at the following suggestions that you probably won’t find in your guide book.

J & B Dancing Club

Very close to Villa del Palmar Puerto Vallarta, J & B Dancing Club is a typically Mexican place to enjoy dancing the cool moves of salsa and merengue. It’s away from the main stretch of bars and clubs that dominate Puerto Vallarta’s night scene on the Malecon, but still highly noticeable because of its large signboard. It seems tailor made for those whose hobby and likes include the art of dancing. A band plays nightly to keep you company and the club is open daily; even the weekdays attract a big number of dancing enthusiasts. Its large dance floor means you don’t have to wait for your chance to strut your stuff as it can accommodate many dancers at any given time. Dancing lessons are also available.

Barracuda and El Solar

Barracuda and the El Solar Beach Bar are two places that will not fail to impress and are always full of locals and expats who have made Puerto Vallarta their second home. It’s run and owned by one family whose purpose is to offer something unique and different. Barracuda is a delicious seafood restaurant located right on the beach, about 5 minutes walk from the start of Puerto Vallarta’s Malecon. If you are not sure if you want to have a full meal, but want to have a few drinks and something to share, then Barracuda’s sister bar, El Solar is the perfect choice. With great music, and the chance of seeing a live band or DJ, your feet will be tapping as you watch the waves crash on the beach.

The Farmers Market

One of Puerto Vallarta’s pride is its ability to supply its visitors and residents the necessities of life. Besides the Palmita Market, located on site at Villa del Palmar and Villa del Mar resorts, a great place for your shopping and buying needs is the Farmer’s Market that operates every Saturday from 9 am to 2pm in Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town. A wide variety of goods can be bought there like local cuisines, fruits, vegetables, crafts, art pieces, home decors, accessories and jewelries. They are priced just right and are affordable to common people. It will be a lively hunt for the best local products and visitors have the first- hand experience of what Farmers Market can offer.

Las Gemelas Beach

A low profile beach of stunning beauty made up of clear waters and fine white sand. Las Gemelas Beach is the preferred choice for local people when other beaches like Los Muertos Beach gets too crowded for comfort. It’s a mere 15 minute ride to access this hidden beach which has almost the same panoramic properties that other beaches have. The only downside is the absence of stores where you can buy some needed things, but still a place worth seeing and visiting. This is great for when you want something different than your beach at Villa del Palmar.

Mayto

Mayto is the place for further adventuring if you wish to go out of Puerto Vallarta’s zone. A long stretch of marvellous beauty awaits every visitor. Its 12 kilometer long of sandy area is enough space for anyone who likes to be in a place where they are (almost) the only person on the beach. The main beach area is an ideal place to meet new people and socialize. It would be fun interacting socially with others by dancing around a beach fire accompanied by the strums of a guitar. Mayto has its special ways of letting you feel that great Mexican beach holiday.
