Tips for Staying Safe at Home

The Coronavirus COVID-19 crisis has affected life for everyone around the world. Worldwide, every country has decided to implement safety measures to try to keep the virus from spreading so quickly. Social distancing and at home quarantine are recommended. This has been a challenging time for everyone, but if we all work together, we will get through this. You need to practice good hygiene and follow all safety requirements. The Villa Group Resorts has closed down their resorts in order to help slow the spread of the virus, too. However, we anxiously await the return of our beloved guests when the time is right.

In the meantime, continue to read below to learn more about the top 5 tips for staying safe at home.
Top 5 Tips for Staying Safe at Home during COVID-19
Time with Loved Ones
During the current COVID-19 epidemic, everyone is under a lot of stress and worry. Too much stress can negatively affect your health if you’re not careful. To stop this, you and your family should spend quality time relaxing together. You can enjoy the free time and watch movies, play cards, board games or listen to music together. For family members and friends that you can’t see in person at this time, you can always video call them. There are plenty of free video call applications out there. That way, you can still stay connected to your loved ones and be safe, too.

Get Creative With Cooking
A trip to the grocery store is different than it used to be. Nowadays, you cannot come into close contact with others. Maintain a safe distance away while you shop, and you can wear a facemask, too. Also, make sure to wipe down all products you buy with a disinfectant wipe. While using the proper hygiene tips, you can visit the grocery store in your town to get food, but try to go only once every week or two at most to stock up. Once at home, you can get creative with cooking healthy and tasty meals for your family. Don’t be upset if your family misses their favorite restaurants. Many restaurants are still offering delivery and take out, so you can get a break while still enjoying your favorite restaurant food by having it delivered.
Make Daily Exercise a Priority
Just because the gyms have been closed, it doesn’t mean you can’t still exercise while you are being quarantined. For example, if you have a yoga mat and some free weights you can still get in a good workout. You can also look online, because many professional trainers are providing free exercise classes. In addition, if you live in an area that allows you to go outside, then you can still go for a daily run, bicycle ride, or walk. However, remember you have to stay at least 2 meters from others. This is called safe social distancing.
Sanitize, Declutter and Organize
Since everyone is stuck in their home, there is no time like the present to sanitize, declutter, and organize your home. Everyone has drawers that are messy along with unorganized closets. You can start decluttering and organizing them now. Any clothes that you don’t wear can be donated later. While you are decluttering and organizing, you might as well sanitize your home at the same time. It has never been so important to keep your home clean and germ free.
Sunlight = Natural Vitamin D
Getting a dose of sunlight daily is very important as studies have shown. Getting sunlight daily will provide your body with a natural dose of Vitamin D, which will keep your immune system strong and healthy. Do you have a yard at your home? If so, then you can go outside daily for an hour or so to get sunlight and natural Vitamin D. However, you should try to avoid going outside from 10 AM to 4 PM, because the rays can be very strong and dangerous at that time. The best time to get sun exposure is in the early morning or late afternoon. If you don’t have a yard, you can still get sunlight by just sitting by a sunny windowsill for 15 minutes or so.
